"Erma Bombeck (Columnist, now deceased) once said, 'When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left, and could say that I used everything you gave me.' This quote pretty much sums up my way of thinking. I try to stay with just one medium, but that just doesn't work for me. I enjoy learning new art forms, and taking them as far as I can go. Life is short, we should enjoy it to the fullest. "I have always enjoyed making as many of the Christmas gifts that my husband and I give as possible. We raised our children to do the same and to encourage their children to be creative also. We have received many handmade treasures from our children and gandchildren over the years. "I hope this 'offering' of my old fashioned Christmas treasures brings pleasure to you or a loved one in one form or another. Remember that somewhere within each of us, we hold the key to our creative nature. Find your key and you will find riches beyond measure. "May your Holiday Season be filled to capacity with Family, Friends and Joy." Char Jump |

"My husband and I moved to Alaska in 1992. I have always enjoyed working with beads, fabric, wood, clay, paper and water based oils. I have participated in Fireweed Gallery's annual "We Bead" exhbits and was awarded the People's Choice Award in the advanced beaders category. "My beaded carousel horse lamp, beaded evening bag, hat and gloves, and a beaded cabachon necklace have been featured in the Northcoast Artist Exhibit. My beadwork has also been featured in "Beadwork" magazine, a traveling "Beaded Shoe" exhibit, Belle Armoire's "Salon", "Haute" and "Jewelry", wearable arts magazines. "I participated in the "Bead Quilt" for 9/11, a traveling exhibit in honor of those lost. One of the beaded squares was later published in a Bead Embroidery Book by Robin Cook. "My oil paintings of eagles, gulls, puffins, hummingbirds and chickadees on feathers, wood and canvas have been represented in galleries in Haines, Seward and Homer, Alaska. My beadwork and oil paintings are available at Fireweed Gallery in Homer." Char Jump |
