found object welded metal sculpture
by
Don Henry

Don Henry began creating metal art in the early sixty's.  For his projects, he collects interesting metal objects that he happens upon.  Old bits of equipment and yard sale finds are precious components, welded together they take on a new and fanciful life.  Many sculptures are life-sized.
The two motorcycles currently in the gallery are the Chopper and the Tracker.  Both are made up of hundreds of items collected over more than 4 years.  A tall table, a jardiniere, and smaller flower and animal sculptures are also in the gallery this summer.
